Swifts announce 'Sausage and Cider Festival'

And turn the pitch at Scraley Road into a giant picnic area to accommodate it

We might not be able to go and watch football in our stadiums just yet- more's the pity- but we can turn them into giant socially-distanced beer gardens, and Heybridge Swifts are about to go one better, as they host a Sausage and Cider Festival at Scraley Road.

The event, which is scheduled for this coming Saturday and starting an hour before we should have been watching kick off- that's 2PM for those of you who have forgotten what football is- features multiple types of sausage, an enormous amount of local cider, enough gin to take a swim in (we're not recommending that, by the way), cocktails for those who like their drinks to come with an umbrella, live music and lots of outdoor seating. Oh, and if you're worried that you might not get a seat, then bring your own (that's a folding chair, we don't want you to strap a sofa to the roof of your Ford Focus).

We've attached a flyer advertising the event, and we hope that all attending have a fabulous time.
