Tanners tighten their belts

Leatherhead announce "significant" covid cost-cutting

Leatherhead have announced the need to adopt significant cost-cutting measures as they look to cope with the impact of the ongoing pandemic. The Tanners, thirteenth in the Pitching In Isthmian Premier League, released a statement this afternoon which concluded that 'we cannot continue to operate under the same cost structure if we are to survive as a club until the end of the season.'

The club have announced an interim committee which will look closely at the financial operation of the club. From a playing perspective, they add that 'Nikki Bull and Martin McCarthy have agreed to continue in their current roles. They will be undertaking these responsibilities with a significantly reduced player budget and we are grateful for their commitment.'

Charlie Hester-Cook, who has made eleven appearances so far this season, has signed for National League South side Dorking Wanderers, but will remain with the Tanners until the end of the season.
