Terrors are London Champions

Tooting and Mitcham United win the only Bank Holiday weekend trophy that really matters!

If anyone was worried that an exhausting, nerve-sapping one hundred and twenty minutes- plus penalties- on Friday night might have left Tooting and Mitcham United too frazzled to face a cup final on Monday afternoon, their worries were soon eliminated as the Terrors defeated AFC Wimbledon to lift the London Senior Cup.

United, who didn't complete that Semi-Final until ten past eleven on Friday night, went into half time level, before Jake Rose began to make life difficult for the Dons defence. He had a goal disallowed for offside, another shot which hit the post and rolled along the line before being cleared, and then made the breakthrough on seventy minutes, assisted by Danny Williams. Two minutes later and the advantage was doubled, Williams against providing the assist as Mark Waters headed home.

The Dons struck back late on to make the last five minutes interesting, but the Terrors held on for a deserved victory!

Congratulations to all at the club. By the way, the last time the Terrors picked up the London Senior Cup, they won the South Division title the year afterwards. An omen?

Well, you wouldn't want to bet against it!
