Thank you to our volunteers

By Ian Townsend

We might have no football at present, but we can still celebrate the people who make it happen

The Non League game is reliant on its volunteers just to exist- and we're very lucky across the Isthmian League, as we have a fine collection of football-loving folk who help to make sure our clubs function, and do it just for love. It may be Volunteers Week across the nation, but for us, every week is volunteers week.

So whether you operate a turnstile, compile a programme, look after websites or social media, paint white lines, sell programmes or golden goal tickets, brew tea and cook burgers, mark up team boards, work as stewards, provide matchday music, ensure the paperwork is in order, run a club shop, work behind a bar, worry about the finances, point a camera, raise funds, pay officials, commentate on the game, or do something we’ve forgotten to add to this list, thank you. Thank you for your dedication, your passion, your attention to detail, and your love.

You can find out more about Volunteers week here. And if you'd like to become a volunteer at your local club, then you can find their details by heading here and simply clicking on their badge.
