The Aveley takeover continues

Two more Millers- soon they're going to need a larger Mill

Aveley and Tilbury seem to be competing to announce the most signings at present, and the Millers have seen the Dockers two over the last twenty four hours and kept pace with two of their own, announcing the return to fitness- and to the first team squad- of midfielder Freddie Gard and the retention of goalscoring goalkeeper David Hughes.

Freddie, formerly of Southend United, Grays Athletic and Brightlingsea Regent, joined the Millers under his former Regent boss James Webster and was a fixture in their first team until a terrible injury kept him on the sidelines for the whole of last season.

David made forty one appearances last season and famously scored in the last one before the lockdown, opening the scoring in a three-nil win over Basildon United. There's no truth in the rumour that he's asked to play up front next season.

David previously played for Thurrock, East Thurrock United and Harlow Town.
