The South Central Three!

By Ian Townsend

We’ve only three matches in the South Central Division on Saturday, but they promise fabulous entertainment!

We might have a denuded set of fixtures because of Trophy commitments, but what we have looks to be fabulous.

Promotion favourites Bracknell Town have won three matches out of three so far, scoring eight goals and conceding only one- and that in a four-one win over highly-rated Ashford United in the cup in midweek. They travel to Honeycroft to face Uxbridge, who haven’t had the best of starts and are yet to get a promising result, but showed their quality last season when they ended the campaign in third place, and must surely begin to deliver in the near future.

Another side who were superb in midweek are Bedfont Sports, who dumped Pitching In Isthmian Premier Lewes out of the FA Cup. They host Ware, perhaps our title favourites, but the Blues slipped up at Staines Town last weekend, and also lost to Canvey in the FA Cup, so are still looking for a positive result. Will they get it on Saturday? It certainly won’t be easy.

Finally, Chipstead entertain Westfield. These sides were amongst our big entertainers last season, and Westfield were entertaining once more in recording the biggest win of the opening day as they defeated Northwood three-nil. The Chips lost to Bracknell on the opening day, but have won both of their FA Cup ties so far so should not be underestimated.

Where next?

Do the South East shuffle Last weekend the South East Division got off with a bang, with goals galore. Will we have just as much excitement tomorrow?
All points North! We’ve a reduced programme of North Division fixtures this weekend due to FA Trophy involvement. Here’s our preview.
