The Terminator is back!

Swifts announce the return of Julian Dicks

Heybridge Swifts last night announced that their new manager was their old manager, and that the Assistant to their new manager was also their old manager. Confused? Well let's clear that up!

Former West Ham United legend Julian Dicks, most recently to be found inside the dugout at West Bromwich Albion, has returned to take charge at Scraley Road. Julian, who left the club for the Baggies in July 2019, told the local paper last month that he was looking to work for another Chairman "like" Swifts Chair Gary White, and he couldn't get one more like Gary than Gary, could he?! During his last spell in charge Swifts 'won' promotion from Isthmian North by defeating local rivals Maldon & Tiptree in the Playoff Final, only to be denied their elevation due to a lack of points-per-game as the FA rejigged the pyramid.

Julian is joined at Swifts by his former Assistant, Karl Duguid, who stepped up as his replacement and remained at the helm until April last year. His side were in fourth place when he left to focus more time on his young family.

The new team officially take over on July 1st. Watch the first interview with the new manager below.
