Three sides hope to make it to the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup, whilst we have matches in Pitching In Isthmian Premier, South Central and South East. Here's a preview.

We start in the Emirates FA Cup, where we have three sides hoping to make it into the Fourth Qualifying Round.

Cray Valley PM and Carshalton Athletic meet for the second of three times this week, as the sides have to play each other in the FA Trophy on Saturday. Tonight- and on Saturday- there will have to be a winner, and the teams look to be closely matched, as Saturday’s three-all draw demonstrated. The Robins will have been disappointed not to win, as they let a three-one lead slip, but the Millers remain unbeaten in all competitions, having already played twelve matches. The victors will host Enfield Town in the next round.

Hornchurch welcome Aveley to Bridge Avenue. The last time they did that was the final game of last season, a Play Off Final which the visiting Millers won, but after coming back from two goals down on Saturday to earn this replay the Urchins- and their supporters- will be desperate to finally get some sort of revenge against these opponents. Hornchurch are unbeaten in all competitions this season, and will very much hope to stay that way. A home tie with Barnet awaits the victors.

Into Pitching In Isthmian Premier now, and a side who already know they are into the final qualifying round of the cup, Billericay Town, are back to the bread and butter as they welcome Canvey Island for an Essex derby. Billericay have a five match unbeaten run to try to extend- and indeed have only one defeat all season- whilst the travelling Gulls have had a mixed campaign but got back to winning ways in style on Saturday, hitting four goals past Margate. Despite Canvey’s fine 22-23 they were defeated in both meetings against the Blues last season, and indeed Billericay’s winning run over the Gulls stretches to five matches.

Concord Rangers will be buoyed by their first win of the season last Saturday, a victory which moved them off the bottom of the table. They welcome a side three points and two places above them, Cray Wanderers. Wands have had an unexpectedly poor start to the campaign, and will want to bounce back from a three-nil defeat at Kingstonian on Saturday/

Pitching In Isthmian South East sees Hythe Town welcome Ashford United. Neither side have had the start to the campaign we- and they- might have expected. The Cannons have lost their last two league matches, failing to score a goal and conceding six; whilst the Nuts and Bolts were hit for six by- at that point- bottom side East Grinstead Town on Saturday, two weeks after conceding five against Phoenix Sports in their previous league match. We expected these sides to be amongst our promotion favourites- and indeed they might still prove that to be correct- but both will be keen to avoid another defeat. Hythe don’t have a good record in this fixture in recent years- the last time they defeated United was September 2017.

In Pitching In Isthmian South Central, bottom side Binfield continue their search for a first win as fifth place Chertsey Town come to call. The Moles have had a terrible start to the season, are still without a league win, lost eight-nil at Southall on Saturday, and have also conceded seven goals on one occasion and six goals on two more during the first two months of the campaign. The Curfews recorded their best win of the season on Saturday, defeating Ashford Town three-nil- and another win could take them as high as second place.
