Tuesday's Ryman North action review

By David Watters

The game of the night on Tuesday in Ryman North saw second-place AFC Sudbury travel to Hayes Lane and topple leaders Cray Wanderers, winning 2-1, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Sudbury took the lead in the 10th minute when Ryan Henshaw rose at the far post to head home a corner. The rest of the first half belonged to the Suffolk side but the second period was a different matter.

Cray pressed and had far more of the ball and equalised after a shot deflected in off Ollie Berquez. The home side continued to press but with six minutes left a good move led to substitute George Clarke scoring the winner.

Sudbury are now just three points behind Cray with two games in hand while Cheshunt moved back into the top five despite only managing a 1-1 draw with a now seventh-placed Bury Town side who are level on points with the Ambers.

Tuesday`s other game saw Heybridge Swifts move out of the relegation places and within a point of hosts Wroxham after winning 3-o at Trafford Park.

George Cole bagged a brace for Swifts in the 18th and 54th minutes – a penalty from Tyler Scarlett sandwiching his double.
