Tuesday's Ryman Premier action review

Ryman League Premier Division

Bognor Regis Town achieved an eighth win in ten Ryman Premier games on Tuesday night when they won 2-1 at Bayliss Avenue against second-bottom Thamesmead Town, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The struggling hosts had slightly the better of the first half though and following an early corner Bognor's players had to hack the ball off the line four times in 20 seconds! But on 22 minutes the Rocks went ahead through Ben Johnson, only for Mead to equalise within a minute, courtesy of Jordan Hibbert.

It looked like a draw was on the cards until the last minute of normal time saw Ollie Pearce brought down in the box and Johnson converted the spot-kick to win it for the Rocks.

In the only other league game on Tuesday night, Harrow Borough extended their unbeaten league run away from home to four games with a hard-fought draw at the Beveree against Hampton & Richmond Borough.

Boro took a 19th minute lead, Steve Butterworth picking up the ball wide on the right and running all the way from half-way into the Hampton box, then hitting a low shot past Rodney Chiweshe. But Hampton came back and equalised in the 24th minute, with Harrow’s defence unable to clear a left-wing attack and Charlie Moone smashing in a low shot from close in.
