Tuesday's Ryman Premier action review

Due to FA Trophy replays, there were only two games in the Ryman League's Premier Division on Tuesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Leaders Margate travelled to the Harry Abrahams Stadium to take on seventh-placed Wingate & Finchley looking to extend their advantage from Kent rivals Maidstone United to four points but had to make do with just one and a two-point cushion after drawing a 1-1.

David Knight broke the deadlock to give the home side a deserved lead just before the hour-mark. Up to that point Margate`s Nikki Bull had been the busier keeper, and his saves proved crucial as the visitors equalised with 20 minutes remaining when Luke Moore took advantage of a poor back pass.

The other game saw Kingstonian end a five-game win-less run with a hard-fought 3-2 win at the Village Glass Stadium against Witham Town.

Pelayo Pico-Gomez gave the K`s a 15th minute lead that Luke Callander levelled within five minutes. Lewis Godbold then gave Garry Kimble`s side the lead five minutes before half-time. Gomez equalised from the penalty spot after Elvis Hammond had been fouled in the box before Hammond grabbed the winner with 13 minutes remaining.
