Ryman League Premier Division

In the Ryman Premier on Tuesday night, third-placed Dulwich Hamlet suffered defeat at Champion Hill as they failed to break down a stubborn Leiston, who are now seventh and just two points off the play-off places, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Dulwich spent almost all of the match on the front foot but failed to take their chances and were punished by the visitors when Danny Block opened the scoring on nine minutes.

The home side fought back to equalise six minutes before the break through Xavier Vidal but Craig Parker proved to be the Suffolk club`s match winner with a goal 12 minute into the second half.

In the night's other game, East Thurrock United moved into fifth place with a comprehensive 4-0 win against Peacehaven & Telscombe at Rookery Hill.

Sam Higgins opened the scoring for the home side on 31 minutes. Connor Witherspoon doubled the hosts' lead seven minutes later and on 76 minutes David Bryant put the game beyond reach of the Magpies with a third for the Rocks.

Seven minutes after, Higgins, with his second goal of the night, made it 4-0 to take them into the play-off places.
