Two more Common people

Dan Purdue and Matt Surmon sign on at Sutton Common Rovers

Sutton Common Rovers have announced two new arrivals.

First up is goalkeeper Dan Purdue. Dan first came to our notice in November 2017, when, as the Under 18 keeper for Hendon, he was drafted into the first team for his debut when their first choice keeper got the flu. The match, an FA Cup tie against Slough Town, went to penalties- and rookie Dan made sure that the Greens progressed by saving two of them.

He made a dozen appearances for Chalfont St Peter at the start of the 2019-20 campaign, and went on to play for Burgess Hill Town and Harrow Borough. He spent most of last season at Northwood, playing eighteen times- including against his new club last October.

Matt also played for the Woods last season, the centre back shielding Dan's goal from marauders! he made thirty two appearances, and scored a memorable hat trick in the last one, their eight-one win against Staines Town on the last day of the campaign. Prior to his time with the Woods, he played for FC Deportivo Galicia (they play in the Combined Counties League, despite their name), Ashford Town, Broadfields United and Windsor.
