Shortly after their draw with Wingate & Finchley, Lewes announced the arrivals of Ronan Silva and Alfie Young

Lewes had two new players in their squad for Saturday's one-one draw at Wingate & Finchley, with the signings of Ronan Silva and Alfie Young.

Midfielder Ronan actually scored on his debut. He moves to the Dripping Pan on loan from Crawley Town. He signed a one and a half year deal with the Red Devils last February, after moving from Biggleswade Town, and has already had a loan spell at Eastleigh in the National League- indeed he headed to the Spitfires immediately after arriving at the Broadfield Stadium.

Defender Alfie ended last season at Kingstonian- one of three clubs he appeared for during 2021-22. he made sixteen appearances for the K's- the first one of those coming against Potters Bar Town, the club he had just left, and for whom he played eleven times after leaving Worthing.

He made half a dozen appearances for the Mackerel Men last season, thirty three appearances during 2019-20, and a couple more during 2020-21, which was interrupted for him by injury as well as by the lockdown which impacted on all of us.

Prior to his time as a Mackerel Man he came through the Watford Academy, before moving on to play for Hendon and Wingate and Finchley. He made nine appearances for the Greens during our 2016-17 season, and another eighteen for the Blues during that same campaign.
