Callum Stringer and Peter Mokwenye new at Basildon United

Basildon United's four-nil win over Witham Town on Saturday was accompanied by the debuts of new arrivals Callum Stringer and Peter Mokwenye.

Callum, a midfielder, started the season with Maldon & Tiptree, and he made nine appearances for the Jammers. Prior to that his action came in his home country of Ireland, coming through the youth ranks at Waterford to play for the Under 19 and first team. He moved on to Cobh Ramblers, and his time at Maldon was his first UK football experience.

Defender Peter Mokwenye had a previous spell at the Bees, but it was a short one- he made three appearances last season before moving on to Maldon & Tiptree, and he made twenty more appearances for the Jammers.

Peter originally moved to the Bees from Colney Heath, where he won the Managers Player of the Season Award for 21-22. He was previously with Sutton United, and also spent time at Chessington & Hook United.

This season has seen him play for Tilbury in the Essex senior League, and he joins United on a dual registration deal.
