United launch appeal for injured star

Tom Chalmers needs surgery- Hastings United have launched crowdfunding to help

Tom Chalmers has been an enormous part of Hastings United's success over the last few seasons. Graduating from the club's Academy to make his first team debut during the defunct 2019-20 campaign, he has become a mainstay of the first team, demonstrating goal scoring prowess and the ability to change position and play further back- until his progress was halted by serious injury earlier this year.

Tom now requires surgery to fix anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament injuries, and the club have begun a crowd funding campaign to pay for this surgery to take place much sooner than it could be provided on the NHS. So far nearly half of the target has been raised, but the campaign continues, and if you'd like to help, you can head here and contribute.

Tom, we hope you can quickly have the treatment you require- and will soon be back on the pitch.
