Vale strengthen their defence

Matt Drage is new at Raynes Park Vale

Prior to Saturday's scheduled (but postponed) match at Guernsey, Raynes Park Vale strengthened their defence with the signing of centre back Matt Drage- because, obviously, if you pick up our Golden Gloves award for the best defence two months in a row you immediately think, "of course, I need another centre half!"

Matt ended last season playing Pitching In Isthmian Premier football with Kingstonian, making fourteen appearances as they held on to their top flight status. He joined the K's from Hartley Wintney, and had two successful spells with the club, playing one hundred and nineteen games in total.

Earlier in his career he played for Staines Town, and then was a big part of the Dulwich Hamlet squad, making an incredible fifty four appearances as they reached the Premier Division Play Off Final in 2015-16. He topped that the following season, playing fifty times as Hamlet again fell in the Play Off Final.

He has also spent time with Eastbourne Borough, Hampton & Richmond, Leatherhead, Tooting & Mitcham United and Whitehawk.
