Vita Risk Solutions: Manager of the Month Award, December 2023

Premier Division

We spent much of last season honouring Hashtag United boss Jay Devereux as his side marched to Pitching In Isthmian North glory, and he’ll have to build an extension to his trophy cabinet, as we’re doing it again!

The Tags had a superb December. First, Canvey Island and Cray Wanderers arrived at the Len Salmon and departed only with defeat. United then travelled to North London to take on Haringey Borough and hit four on Boxing Day, and then, on the last Saturday of the year, they made the long trip to the Kent coast and defeated Folkestone Invicta.

Congrats to Jay, and to all at the club, on a perfect month.

North Division

December was very much a Blue month, and the blue belonged to the fine folk of Ram Meadow, which is why we honour Bury Town and their boss Cole Skuse. First, Enfield were hit for seven, and then, after a goalless draw at promotion chasing Brentwood Town, leaders Lowestoft Town came to call- and were given a lesson, and their biggest defeat of the campaign, a performance which has already picked up our Performance of the Month award. Grays Athletic were up next, and they were also swept aside.

Many congrats to Cole, and to all who serve alongside him.

South Central Division

December was the month that Hanworth Villa really began to resemble the side that surprised and entertained us all last season, and thrust themselves back into promotion contention once more. An unbeaten month, the Villains started with a win over Sutton Common Rovers, and after holding Leatherhead to a draw at Fetcham Grove- the only side to score against the Tanners in December- comprehensive victories over Chipstead and Ashford Town rounded off a fine festive season.

Our congratulations go to Simon Haughney, and to all at Rectory Meadow.

South East Division

And December makes three.

We spent October and November delivering Manager of the Month awards to Ramsgate boss Ben Smith, and we might as well purchase a season ticket as we’re off there again.
As the old saying goes, you can only beat what’s in front of you- and the Rams have tended to beat everything that’s in front of them. Only twice this season have they dropped any points at all, and neither of those occasions happened in December, a month which saw them defeat Chichester City, Erith & Belvedere, Herne Bay and Sevenoaks Town.

We’re beginning to sound rather like a broken record, but many congratulations again to Ben, and to all at the club.
