Wands work their magic, whilst Town triumph

Cray and Faversham pick up the points in our Sunday fixtures

Cray Wanderers were our supporters favourites for promotion this season after coming so close last year, and they remain on maximum points after winning their second match of the campaign yesterday. Whitstable Town arrived at Hayes Lane yesterday afternoon for what was their opening match, and they left pointless and goalless as Cray triumphed by two goals to nil.

In front of a crowd of 316, Junior Dadson got the first for Wanderers in the 68th minute, before Aaron Rhule made the points safe two minutes before time. The result sees Cray in fourth place, level on points and goal difference with Hastings United, Phoenix Sports and Ashford United- but sitting pretty as the only club in the division yet to concede a goal.

Faversham Town travelled to Princes Park to take on Thamesmead Town, and they couldn't have had a worse start to the match, conceding a goal in the very first minute, Bode Anidugbe the scorer. They soon settled, however, and were ahead within half an hour, Harry Goodger and Danny Walder with the goals- and that's how it ended. Faversham climb to eighth place and remain unbeaten.

There is one match tonight. Unbeaten North Division Aveley take on South Central Division leaders Hanwell Town at Parkside in the Velocity Trophy. Kick off is at 1945.
