Wasps v Hawks- and both sides need the points in our big Sussex derby

By Ian Townsend

Whitehawk look to go second, whilst East Grinstead Town look to open up a seven point gap between themselves and the bottom four. It’s our Pitching In Isthmian South East preview

Whitehawk, with only one defeat from ten and having won seven of their last eight, are the form side in Pitching In isthmian South East- and the Hawks know that victory at East Grinstead Town this evening will take them into second place, as well as closing the gap to leaders Ramsgate to just two points.

The Hawks, who defeated the Wasps two-nil with second half goals from Harry Shooman and Mo Juwara when the two sides met in October, face a side who have won only two of their last ten- but who took a point from play off chasing Ashford United last time out. The Wasps are much more difficult to defeat on their own patch than they are on the road, whilst the Hawks away form- with only five wins from fifteen matches- has been their Achilles heel this season.

The last five meetings between the sides have seen Town pick up only two points- but they have a big incentive tonight, as victory would see them climb to twelfth place and ease any relegation fears.
