Horsham defeated Hastings United three-nil in the Sussex Senior Cup Final earlier this week- and you can watch the entire match below. United supporters may wish to look away now- sorry.
It took the Hornets only six minutes to break the deadlock. Reece Myles-Meekums played a one-two, charged into the box and placed the ball across the keeper and into the corner of the net, giving Horsham an early advantage.
United looked to respond, but made little headway, and on thirty three minutes the Hornets scored again. This time a cross from Lee Harding reached Lucas Rodrigues at the back post, and he knocked it back for Shamir Fenelon to head home. It was two-nil at the break, and there was nearly a third in the first minute of the second half, but this time Myles-Meekums hit the post. On sixty eight minutes, however, the match was as good as over, as Daniel Ajakaiye cooly added a third, Fenelon providing the assist.
Four thousand, eight hundred and sixty nine watched on, and those heading back up the A23 after the match were rather delighted with the outcome.
Congratulations to the Hornets.
