Wednesday's Ryman North action review

By David Watters

The A134 derby between mid-table Bury Town and Ryman North champions AFC Sudbury ended all-square in front of a crowd of 426 at Ram Meadow on Wednesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The home side had by far the better of the first half and went in leading with a goal from former Sudbury player Ollie Hughes.

The second half saw the champions up their game and equalise though Luke Callander - his 24th goal of the season – seven minutes after the break.

The visitors had far more of the game and should have wrapped it up when Joe Maybanks saw a chance spin into goalkeeper Neil O`Sullivan`s arms.

Callander also looked sure to score but the ball hit the post and he put the rebound wide. Then late on Maybanks shot well over.
