Jay Welch swaps Ascot for Thatcham Town

Thatcham Town have announced the signing of Ascot United midfielder Jay Welch- and gave him a debut in Saturday's defeat against Leatherhead.

Jay was a big part of the Yellas promotion/FA Vase winning side last season, and has made twenty seven appearances for the Yellas this season, including two in defeats against his new side.

In his younger days Jay was part of the Reading FC Academy, moved on to National League side Aldershot Town, and then became a mainstay of the Marlow midfield. He played one hundred and seventeen times for the club prior to his departure at the end of the 21-22 campaign, and scored eleven goals.
