Welling White becomes Lewes Lewis

By Ian Townsend

Lewis White is a loan signing for Lewes

Prior to Saturday's match with Haringey Borough, Lewes announced the loan signing of Welling United winger Lewis White.

Lewis won't be entirely unknown to Isthmian watchers, as he spent time on loan with Carshalton Athletic a few years ago, making fourteen appearances and scoring four goals during the unfinished 19-20 season, and a couple more before 20-21 fell flat on its face. That loan spell was from Dulwich Hamlet, who he played for in National League South.

Lewis joined Hamlet after leaving Millwall, where he came through the Academy setup and was occasionally part of the first team squad. His career was impacted by injury whilst at the New Den, particularly by a hamstring tear which kept him out of action for almost a season. Lewisham born, he was spotted by the Lions after playing against one of their sides for his district.

Following his departure from Hamlet/Carshalton he signed on at Worthing, playing twenty eight times and scoring five goals last season. He signed for Welling in the summer.
