Whitnell keeps Witham in hunt

ROB WHITNELL (pictured) netted his 18th Ryman North goal of the season five minutes from time tonight (Wednesday) to give Witham a 1-0 home win over Cheshunt and keep their play-off hopes alive.

Witham are now level with Soham, both being just three points behind fifth-placed Aveley. But Millers have two games in hand.

The other game in the division was a 1-1 draw. Luke Ingram gave hosts Sudbury a 35th-minute lead from the spot and 18-year-old Ryan Blackman replied for Tilbury three minutes later.
