Aveley need a new head Miller

Aveley have announced the departure of manager James Webster 'by mutual consent.' In a statement on the club website, it is explained that 'an increased workload has led to James being unable at present to dedicate himself totally to manage our football club.

It is with reluctance all parties have come to this decision.

The club wishes to thank James for him time at Parkside and wish him all the best for the future.'

Webster joined the club in October 2017, bringing to an end an incredibly successful tenure as manager of Brightlingsea Regent, a decision he explained to this website at the time.

'I was so impressed with the plans laid out by Craig Johnson and Graham Gennings. The facilities are exceptional, and it will be a joy to use them, but they want a team that can do justice to the new stadium, play an attractive brand of football and take the club to new heights. They were so passionate and committed, and you only have to look around you at Parkside to see how far their hard work and ambition has already taken them. They sold the club to me in such a way that I just knew that I wanted to be involved in the future of Aveley, that it was, perhaps, the right job at the right time. I hope that I can be the manager who can fulfil their dreams- and in doing so, fulfil mine.'

If the dream for the club was to achieve promotion to the Bostik Premier Division, then with a playoff place secure, there must still be a good chance that it can be achieved this season. But it will now be the task of someone other than Webster to make it a reality.
