betting.net Performance of the Month Award- October 2017

October was an exceptional month for many of our Bostik League clubs, and accordingly agreeing the winners of our betting.net Performance of the Month awards took much deliberation. But here's what we've decided. Congratulations go to:

Premier Division.

The Premier Division award goes to Folkestone Invicta. When they travelled to Leiston on 21st October the home side were unbeaten at Victory Road- and indeed had lost only one league match all season. Ninety minutes later and that home record had been taken apart, as Invicta had walloped home five goals with only one in reply.

North Division:

The result of the North Division competition was particularly tight, but in the end we plumped for Mildenhall Town. In the FA Trophy First Qualifying Round they had perhaps the hardest task of any of our clubs, travelling to Kings Lynn Town- second in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier and behind leaders Slough Town only on goal difference. Well Lynn’s league form counted for nothing when, in the 54th minute, Daniel Brown stepped up in front of a crowd of 534 to send Mildenhall into the next round.

South Division

There was also a little competition for the South Division prize, but it turned out that two of the contenders were the same club- Lewes FC. During an exceptional October the Rooks hammered Herne Bay 8-1 at the Dripping Pan, and then travelled to Evo-Stik Southern Premier Dunstable Town in the FA Trophy and beat their higher ranked opponents 4-1. We could have gone for either performance, but in the end decided that the award would be based on their Trophy victory.
