Boing! Dicks joins the Baggies

Swifts boss bids farewell- and heads to the Championship

Heybridge Swifts have announced that boss Julian Dicks has left the club to be part of the coaching team at West Bromwich Albion. It is likely that his Assistant Karl Duguid will be his replacement at Scraley Road.

Dicks took his place on the Swifts bench after the departure of Jody Brown, inheriting a side which was on an extremely poor run. He halted that slide immediately and turned the tide to such an extent that Swifts ended the season as North Division Playoff Winners, sadly denied promotion due to a lack of points-per-game- under FA rules which were in place for only one season. He leaves the club at the invitation of new Baggies coach Slaven Bilic, who he also worked for at West Ham United.

Duguid will now have the job of ensuring that Swifts bounce back from that disappointment, and hopefully grab the promotion place that their efforts last season undoubtedly deserved.
