Bostik Supporters Preview 17/18: Metropolitan Police

For the next in our supporter preview series, Lucas Flanders gets taken in for questioning by the boys in blue.

We asked a supporter from each of our member clubs to answer the same series of questions as part of our preview of the new season. We also asked them to predict how their particular division would finish, from one to 24- and their answers will be revealed in a collection of Supporters Prediction Tables to be released the day before the big kick off.

Here are the answers of Lucas Flanders, representing Met Police.

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

100% the last day of the season against Bognor Regis, all we needed was a point for survival, 1-0 down, Will Salmon heads home and with guarantees our Bostik Premier League status. Sadly at the same time it meant that our good friends at Bognor missed out on the title. Nevertheless they got what they deserved with promotion through the play-offs and the Blues survived.

2. And what was the worst moment?

Our home defeat to Leatherhead seemed massively damaging. Back then it looked like whichever team lost would surely be relegated, therefore when we lost in a tight competitive game against them Bullards Leatherhead side it looked like we were heading down...

3. How will you do this season?

I have high hopes for the season ahead. The manager has made some excellent signings who will bring both experience and talent; with the likes of Lewis Putnam and Jonny Wright. In addition, we’ve kept key players from last year- the likes of Olli Robinson and new club captain Tom Hickey.

I believe the club have the potential to better last season and challenge for the play-offs.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to- and why?

Well of course everyone is relishing the chance to go the AGP Arena and play the highly talked about Billericay Town. To play a team with the players they have brought in is always brings a buzz and to beat them would be huge (as everyone in the league wants to) .

5. What is your favourite away ground?

Always been a big fan of Champion Hill (Dulwich Hamlet)

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

In the past years we've always had close and important games against local neighbours Leatherhead, especially last year in the battle for survival. Kingstonian has always been our biggest rivalry, we've coming up through the leagues together and the location for the two has always brought tense games.

7. What advice would you give to an away supporter visiting you for the first time?

When coming to Imber Court one thing we can guarantee is excellent facilities, the pitch, the ground and the social areas are all in top condition and are up there with the best in the league.

8. Who is your favourite player (for your club) of all time- and why?

For me, ex-captain and midfielder Billy Crook is up there, closely followed by departing Rob Bartley and another ex-captain in Steve Sutherland. Bill performed excellently on the pitch and was a brilliant character to have around the club.

9. Finally, predict who will fill the top five positions at the end of the forthcoming season:

Billericay Town, Dulwich Hamlet, Tonbridge Angels, Margate, Leiston
