Bostik Supporters Preview 17/18: Mildenhall Town

We cried 'Let There Be More Light,' and Damon Barton delivered a saucerful of Mildenhall Town secrets.

We asked a supporter from each of our member clubs to answer the same series of questions as part of our preview of the new season. We also asked them to predict how their particular division would finish, from one to 24- and their answers will be revealed in a collection of Supporters Prediction Tables to be released the day before the big kick off.

Here are the answers of Damon Barton, representing Mildenhall Town.

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

Clinching the title away at Thetford, it was a relief to get over the line...

2. And what was the worst moment?

During January and February when we had a little dip, we couldn't get a win, it was frustrating see us drop points, and get injuries to key players.

3. How will you do this season?

This is a difficult one, as I haven't seen many of the teams we will be facing. But in previous years clubs that have come up through the ECL have done ok, so I will say mid table.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to- and why?

Some of the London clubs, just for the fact they are new grounds to visit.

5. What is your favourite away ground?

I like Gorleston with its covered stands, and dark and old fashioned clubhouse....nice atmosphere there, with decent welcoming fans.

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

Newmarket Town - Just because they are local to us I suppose, but as they are still in the ECL, it doesn't matter as much now!

7. What advice would you give to an away supporter visiting you for the first time?

Park at the bottom of Sainsburys car park head in through our new turnstiles at that end. Better still don't drive, because we have probably the best stocked bar in the league, with 3 or 4 real ales on, choice of ciders, lagers and wine.

8. Who is your favourite player (for your club) of all time- and why?

This is really difficult, but I would probably pick Sandsy, (John Sands), purely for his goals and he played up front when I first started supporting The Hall...however many of last years double winning side could get my vote.

9. Finally, predict who will fill the top five positions at the end of the forthcoming season:

AFC Hornchurch, Maldon & Tiptree, Grays Athletic, Canvey Island, Brentwood Town.
