Brady's bunch just getting started

Leatherhead manager Richard Brady is warning the other clubs chasing Ryman South glory that his side hasn't hit top form yet.

The Tanners, 2-1 FA Cup First Qualifying Round victors over Premier Division Carshalton Athletic on Saturday, briefly went top after thrashing Tooting & Mitcham United 5-1 the previous weekend.

Brady's second placed side are three points behind leaders Walton Casuals with a game in hand. Whitstable are due at Fetcham Grove this Saturday and the Tanners manager insists fans haven't seen his side in top gear yet despite their five wins and unbeaten start to the campaign.

Brady, pictured, said: "We have been grinding out results and picking up points here and there, which is important. There are no trophies handed out in September and we have to try and improve and make sure we stay there. It doesn't change the way we will approach things. We will still take it game by game.

"We know we are good enough, but it is whether we can repeat these kind of performances. We know we have good players in our armoury and know where we should be, but you have to go out and do it on a regular basis."

Leatherhead's manager added: "The cups are great but those games take care of themselves really and the league is our bread and butter."
