Did she get to the church on time?

Needham Market are hoping to track down the stranded bride-to-be they met during Saturday's motorway chaos before beating Folkestone Invicta in the Ryman League's top flight!

Like thousands of other travellers, the Marketmen were stranded on the M20 in Kent for hours after a footbridge collapsed at lunchtime when they bumped into the mystery bride rightly fretting about making it to the church on time.

Pictured alongside manager Mark Morsley and his squad by the central reservation, the Ryman Premier club's secretary Mark Easlea said she'd wandered down the carriageway in search of information on escaping the jams before asking for a selfie with them despite the chaos threatening to ruin her big day!

After finally getting home from their 1-0 win at nearly 10pm after setting off from Suffolk at 10am, the Marketmen are now appealing for help to track down the brunette bride so they can send the happy couple their congratulations and find out how long she eventually kept the groom waiting.

Easlea said: "The lads were stuck like everyone else when she came along and were very happy to pose with her. We were about an hour away from our game at Folkestone but she had a much more important appointment to make. We were all worried whether she'd make it and she certainly brought us a bit of luck so we'd love to find out who she is and whether she made it to the church on time!

"After all the stress she must have had, we'd also like to send the happy couple our congratulations and best wishes on tieing the knot after what could have been disastrous start to married life. If anyone can help, please drop me a line at m.easlea@sky.com."

Hythe Town's fixture at home to Horsham also kicked off late after a lorry hit the bridge on the M20 between Junction 4 and Junction 3 for the M26 soon after midday and closed the motorway in both directions until repairs could be completed on Sunday afternoon. One motorcyclist miraculously escaped death when he managed to throw himself off his bike as he went under the collapsing concrete walkway.
