Wands bring in five- then score eight

Cray announce a collection of new signings, before scoring an even bigger collection of goals

Cray Wanderers brought in five new players yesterday- and then headed to a pre-season match against Sporting Club Thamesmead.

First in was AFC Hornchurch's Bostik North title winner Sean Roberts. Roberts is returning to Hayes Lane after a previous spell with the club, and will add some strength and guile to the midfield.

Next, in came another midfielder, Tom Phipp. Tom previously turned out for Ebsfleet United, Margate and Tonbridge Angels but hung up his boots last year to devote more time to his career away from football- after graduating with a first class honours degree.

The third signing was defender Mitchell Nelson, who only left the club towards the end of last season, and another returnee was Jerome Federico, who left in January but obviously loved the place so much he couldn't stay away!

Finally, in came a left back- and a Rook- with the arrival of Lewes defender Matthew George.

Each new signing turned out for the club in yesterday's friendly, with Roberts and George finding the scoresheet as Wands won 8-1.
