FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round- draw made

By Ian Townsend

Who's next for our sides as they search for FA Cup glory?

The draw for the final Qualifying Round of the FA Cup was made today- and it throws up some intriguing ties for our clubs.

Firstly, let’s look at the certainties. We know that Worthing’s reward for victory at Moneyfields on Saturday will be a trip to Ebsfleet United, currently in fifteenth place in the National League. Fleet have only won one of their home matches so far this season, a statistic which will give the Mackerel Men even more hope of an upset. We also know that Haringey Borough’s reward for victory over AFC Sudbury will be a home tie.

But that’s it!

Borough will face either Horsham or Poole Town, who replay in Dorset tomorrow night. Leatherhead or Hanwell Town will travel to Hitchin Town, conquerors of Hastings United on Saturday, whilst if Dorking Wanderers can overcome the challenge of Gloucester City in their replay they will play host to last season’s FA Trophy Finalists- and Cray Wanderers landlords- Bromley.

Ties will be played during the weekend of Saturday 20th October, and each winning club will not only get the chance of taking on the professionals in the First Round Proper but will pick up twenty five thousand pounds.
