Hastings set for new Pilot lights

By Pitch Hero

HASTINGS United should have a new four-column floodlighting system in place at the Pilot Field for the start of the new Premier Division campaign.

The club has had to overcome numerous obstacles before it could get to the position where it could place the order for a new system, not the least of which has been the complex nature of the phasing of the electrical supply to the Pilot Field and the club would like to thank Steve Davis, a friend of the club, for his expertise in helping to resolve them.

The club would also like to place on record its appreciation for all the many donations made to the floodlight appeal fund and to its supporters club for organising fund-raising events, the income from which contributed to the floodlight appeal fund.

The club would also like to thank the Football Foundation for providing grant aid funding and Hastings Borough Council for both granting planning permission and for their assistance in the funding process.

More good news for the club is that Hastings Local, a division of the nationally-known insurance firm Hastings Direct, will be their main sponsor in 2010-11.

The company is very well known as a provider of car and home insurance, and is looking to increase and improve its links with local communities. The link-up with Hastings' most prominent sports club suits both organisations well.

Hastings United chairman Dave Walters commented, "We are delighted that such a well known company, not to mention the area’s largest employer, has agreed to be our new main sponsor for next season. We aim to work with Hastings Local, to help them to increase their business in the local area, and we are grateful that they have acknowledged the advances we have made as a club in recent years, and have decided to support us in our bid to maintain this. I would also like to sincerely thank our outgoing sponsor, Smart Property, for the invaluable support that they have given the Club over the last two years, and we hope to maintain links with them in the future as well."
