League statement: Points deduction

The Football Association has today rejected an appeal by Walton & Hersham F C against a decision of the League to deduct the Club three points for playing an ineligible player on the opening day of the 2015-16 season.

The Club was fined £100 and deducted the points gained for a 4-1 win over Whitstable Town on Saturday 8 August 2015 after being charged by the League in accordance with League Rule 6.9 for playing an ineligible player, Chidi-James Williams Agunabor.

The player was serving a three match suspension carried over from last season and imposed while he was playing for Erith Town in the Southern Counties East Football League.

In a final and binding decision announced on Wednesday 23 December, The FA Appeal Board refused the Club’s appeal as it was not in accordance with the Regulations governing the lodging of an Appeal.

The League has amended the Division South table to reflect the deduction of points.
