Non League Day- a Bostik Guide

By Ian Townsend

Saturday is Non League Day, and here is a list of fixtures and events our clubs have planned to celebrate!

Non League Day is one of the most special dates in the Non League calendar, and it’s this Saturday! A number of our sides have unique initiatives, and a list of all of the fixtures in which they are involved is given below, but here’s a run down of the highlights- in alphabetical order!

AFC Sudbury are letting all under elevens in for free to their FA Trophy match against Aylesbury United. They are also giving them the chance to meet the players, have a tour of the stadium and be part of a guard of honour- and providing some jazz to entertain the parents!

Billericay Town are letting all supporters in fancy dress into their match against Hendon for half price. The Hendon Scottish contingent are already planning to arrive in kilts, but we’re not sure that counts!

Burgess Hill Town are taking on Lowestoft Town, and have announced that all tickets will be half price. Adults £5, Concessions £3, Under 18's Free.

Corinthian Casuals are hosting a charity crossbar challenge after their match against AFC Dunstable. All supporters will be able to pay a small fee and have a go, and the money raised will go to the partner charity for Non League Day, Prostate Cancer UK.

Dulwich Hamlet are making Non League Day a ‘Pay What You Like’ event for their match against Needham Market. And whatever you do pay will be going to charity.

Enfield Town are hosting Margate, and are offering a treat for five to thirteen year olds. For £20 there will be coaching, a stadium tour, a chance to meet the players and to take part in a guard of honour. The accompanying parent gets in free.

Grays Athletic will be celebrating youth! Joining them on the day will be their Under 10’s, who will be training on the pitch before the game (1-1.45pm) before walking out as mascots with the first team.

They will also welcome the Essex Comets and teams from two local schools, Deneholm Primary and Stifford Clays Primary, who will be taking part in a penalty shoot out at half time.

Merstham FC are pulling out all the stops, with £5 entry for all season ticket holders of Premier League/Football League clubs, a barbecue, a 'Beat the Goalie' competition, a free raffle for a signed ball, a 'Seat Sit Challenge' (no, we've no idea either!), a Karaoke night and a collection for Prostate Cancer UK. Oh, and it will all be broadcast by the Back of the Net Team (well, perhaps not the karaoke, that might have to go out with a health warning!).

Metropolitan Police will host two matches, as prior to the league match versus Folkestone Invicta Chelsea supporters group We Are The Shed will take on a Non-League Supporters and Ex-Players XI. In addition, players from all teams involved will wear t-shirts recognising Kick It Out and Fans For Diversity during the pre-match warm up, with supporters in attendance welcomed with badges, stickers, wristbands, fan clappers.

Tonbridge Angels are providing football for a fiver as they entertain Wingate and Finchley. Under 13's get in free when accompanied by a paying adult, whilst youth admission (13 to 17) is £4 whilst unaccompanied Juniors (U13) are £2.

Tooting and Mitcham United are offering free admission to all Premier League and Championship season ticket holders- don't forget to bring your season ticket- for their match against Worthing.
