Norwegian snaps up seaside souvenir

Margate

Norwegian groundhopper Anders Johansen is unlikely to forget his visit to Margate in a hurry after cheering the Ryman League club on to victory in the Thanet Challenge Cup.

And Johansen, who compiles an annual guide for the thousands of his countrymen who head across the North Sea every season to follow English football and Non-League in particular, has a new image of himself, pictured, for his next edition after agreeing to pose in the Premier Division outfit's seaside picture board which is sponsored by UBLOW Ltd.

The Norwegian took in six games during his trip last week, including friendlies at Bilston, Histon and Aveley before seeing the Margate beat Ramsgate 2-0 at Hartsdown Park.

The Gate went on to draw the return leg 2-2 to lift the trophy 4-2 on aggregate and their new fan said: "I enjoyed my visit to Hartsdown Park and good luck to them this season. I might see them again on my travels around the wonder that is the Non-League universe!"

He added: "There is something special about English football which is why every year thousands of Norwegians travel to experience the authentic English football culture."
