Head coach Tony Reid has replaced Kevin Laundon as the manager of Ryman South Eastbourne Town.

Laundon, pictured, resigned from his post at the Saffrons on Wednesday, citing increasing work commitments for walking away from a job he took in June. Town say Reid will be assisted by Sammy Donnelly, a well known figure in Sussex football.

Reid actually took charge of Town for the first time last Friday night when they lost 2-0 away at Burgess Hill Town. He was also in the dugout on Bank Holiday Monday when they lost 2-0 at home to Peacehaven & Telscombe.

He initially took the reins on a temporary basis after Laundon told the club last week that he would miss their next four matches due to his work.

In a statement released at lunchtime the club confirmed that Ady Colwell would continue as their General Manager. Thanking Laundon for his services, a spokesman said: "Eastbourne Town Football Club would like to thank Mr Laundon for his efforts and the club wishes him well for the future."

Reid's first match following his permanent appointment is on Saturday when his side host Corinthian in the FA Cup's Preliminary Round. Town are currently propping up the Ryman South table with just one point from their first six outings.
