He had two of his goals on the board by the fourth minute and added the third with a penalty on the hour.
The treble, and a clean sheet for goalie Nick Hamann (pictured) on his 150th appearance, earned Robins a 3-0 home win over Hampton which revived their hopes of retaining Ryman Premier status, though they remained at the foot of the table.
The other big winners in the relegation battle were Wingate. Hector Mackie and Leon Smith scored second-half goals in a 2-0 victory at Hendon which lifted them three places to 16th.
The top five all won without conceding a goal, opening up a five-point gap between the play-off places and the rest of the field.
Whitehawk remain ten points clear at the top after their 2-0 victory at Hastings. Danny Mills headed in Charlie Henry’s cross to give them a half-time lead and Sam Gargan added the second with about ten minutes left.
Second-placed Wealdstone also won 2-0, at home to Harrow. Both goals came in the last eight minutes of the first half with Sean Cronin’s opener being followed by a Danny Leech own goal.
It was the same scoreline for Concord, in third spot, in their derby at Canvey. They scored early and late in the first half through Tony Stokes and Jason Hallett.
Concord are 11 points clear of Canvey in sixth place and look certain to clinch a play-off spot. Perhaps equally important to them, they also look sure to finish as the top team on the island for the first time in their history.
A single goal was enough for Lowestoft, who have several games in hand on the three sides above them. Chris Henderson scoring after 69 minutes to see off visitors Bury.
Margate strengthened their grip on fifth place with a 4-0 romp at Cray – their 11th home defeat. A Billy Burgess own goal in the 34th minute was quickly followed by a Ryan Dolby strike and Kezie Ibe added two more in the second half.
Back at the bottom end of the table, Lewes are deep in trouble after dropping to 19th place with a 3-1 defeat at Bognor.
Steve Brinkhurst put them on terms after Ollie Pearce had given Bognor a half-time lead, but two goals in quick succession just inside the last 20 minutes, from Kane Wills and Pearce, settled it. It was the only one of the ten Premier games in which both sides found the net.
Lewes are three points above Thurrock and Hastings, both of whom have four games in hand though, on current form, they may struggle to make the most of them.
Like Hastings, Thurrock went down 2-0 at home. Dave Bryant put East Thurrock ahead after seven minute and Tom Stephen scored direct from a corner just before the interval.
Liam Hope’s goal in the 33rd minute was enough to give Enfield Town a 1-0 home win over Leiston in the other match in the division.
