Thamesmead Town- an update

Hope not quite extinguished

Yesterday afternoon the League received an email from Paul Bowden-Brown, Chairman and Managing Director of Thamesmead Town Football Club Limited, advising us that at a recently convened Board Meeting the Club had unanimously decided to put the Club into a Creditors Voluntary Liquidation with immediate effect.

The Club issued a statement on the matter which the League published on its Website last night.

As events have unfolded today, however, it has now become evident that the Club has not entered into an Insolvency Event but has instructed a Licenced Insolvency Practitioner to deal with the matter.

The League now understands that there are third parties who have made contact with the Club or the LIP to try to save the Club from that Insolvency Event.

Last night the League postponed the Club’s home match with Horsham FC and has now made the decision to postpone Saturday’s match at Whyteleafe FC to enable negtiations to continue.
A decision concerning the Club’s next match on Saturday 27 October 2018 at Herne Bay FC will be made as soon as possible.

League Chairman Nick Robinson commented:

“The League is doing everything we can to assist the Club and any potential buyers in a hope that the Club can be saved. We recognise that Paul Bowden-Brown has done everything he can but if somebody can now step forward and make progress with Club then we will provide every help possible. However time is tight and there are Rules to be complied with.”

The League will issue another statement when the position is clearer.
