Tuesday's Ryman Premier action review

By David Watters

Ryman Premier leaders Dulwich Hamlet lost for the first time in six matches on Tuesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Hamlet suffered a shock defeat to a previously out-of-form Harrow Borough side, who defended well, rode their luck and took their chance when it came.

That was after 63 minutes when Dulwich failed to clear a corner properly and Joshua Webb thumped his effort past the despairing dive of Phil Wilson.

Tonbridge Angels moved into second spot, three points behind Hamlet, after recording a comfortable 3-0 win at Imber Court against Metropolitan Police.

David Fitzpatrick gave Angels a great start with a goal inside eight minutes. And just four minutes later they had doubled their advantage with a penalty converted by Luke Blewden. Anthony Riviere made sure with Angels` third six minutes into the second half.

Steve McKimm`s side moved above Bognor Regis Town who suffered a best-of-five defeat at the Moatside Stadium by Merstham.

Jason Prior gave the Rocks an 11th minute lead that Fabio Saraiva cancelled out seven minutes later. Bognor finished the half in front thanks to a goal two minutes before the whistle from Chike Kandi and they held that advantage until eight minutes from the end when Calum Willock equalised. Another of the Moatsiders` recent signings, Phil Page, won it for the hosts three minutes later.

East Thurrock United moved up to eleventh in the table after inflicting a 4-1 defeat on Farnborough at Rookery Hill.

And Boro led too, courtesy of a 23rd minute Gary MacDonald effort. The introduction of teenage striker Darren Phillips from the bench 15 minutes from time proved the turning point, the 16-year-old crashing home a powerful effort a minute after coming on.

The Rocks helped themselves to a further three goals, Dagenham & Redbridge loanee striker Ade Yusuff scoring twice on 81 and 86 minutes with Tom Wraight sandwiching one in between on 84 minutes.
