A big battle at the bottom!

By Ian Townsend

Coggeshall Town welcome Witham Town in a local derby with more than bragging rights at stake- whilst Wroxham play host to New Salamis in a mid table clash

Coggeshall Town and Witham Town have met eight times since the Seed Growers elevation to our ranks in 2018- and we’ve yet to see a Witham win. Tonight would be a marvellous time for the visitors to break free of that particular hoodoo, as an away win would lift Witham to eight points clear of the bottom four and give them just a little breathing space. As for the Seed Growers, they sit nine points behind their local rivals and as such nine points from safety, so a victory is something of a must! The Seed Growers have gone six matches without a win- although they have drawn four of those- whilst their visitors winless streak is five games long, including two draws. Expect things to be rather tense at West Street.

Two of our promoted sides meet on the Norfolk Broads, as beautiful Wroxham plays host to north Londoners New Salamis. Both sides have much to be proud of this season, turning in some excellent performances, and although there are six points between them- in Salamis favour- the Yachtsmen are in the better form. Wroxham have lost only two of their last ten, whilst Salamis are four unbeaten- but have drawn three of them. The two sides played out a pulsating three-three draw the last time they met, in late October.
