A Cannons trio

Three new arrivals at Hythe Town

Hythe Town have been a little busy in the transfer market, with the arrival of goalkeeper Henry Newcombe, forward Tyler Sterling and midfielder midfielder Bradley Schafer.

Goalkeeper Henry, who moves up from Chatham Town, has played for a number of our clubs- including the Cannons. A Gillingham scholar, he signed a professional deal there before moving to Wycombe Wanderers, and also spent time on loan at Canvey Island. He later played for Margate and Folkestone Invicta, and early last month was announced as a signing for Faversham Town, but seems not to have played a match for the Lilywhites.

Forward Tyler comes in on loan from Folkestone Invicta. Tyler played for the Invicta under 18 side, and also turned out for New Romney in the Kent County League. He signed his first contract at the BuildKent Stadium in March 2020, aged seventeen, and had managed nine appearances before the 2019-20 campaign came to a premature end- scoring a stunning goal against Carshalton Athletic. He made four more appearances last season, and three on loan at Herne Bay. He has played seven times this season, generally from the bench.

Bradley moves from Sevenoaks Town, where he has made fourteen appearances this season and scored three goals, following on from the three goals in twenty six during 2019-20, being injured for the 2020-21 season (he didn't miss much). He was previously with Herne Bay.
