A Dark departure- and all change at the top for Grays

A managerial departure- and a new Chair- for Grays Athletic

Grays Athletic have had a busy week, with the departure of manager Lewis Dark and the appointment of a new Chair, in Lee Vehit.

Lewis announced his departure as manager on Monday, after a successful season which saw his charges reach the Pitching In Isthmian North Play Offs and come very close to defeating eventual winners AFC Sudbury. He went from playing to managing in April last year, after the departure of previous boss Paul Joynes. As a player, he came through the ranks at Brentford, and had three spells with Athletic. He has also played for the likes of Maldon & Tiptree, Witham Town, Heybridge Swifts and Bishop's Stortford.

The club also announced that Chair Steve Skinner and Vice Chair Glyn Jarvis have also stepped down from their roles, although both will remain on the club board. They have been replaced by Lee Vehit as Chair and Gavin Holland as Vice-Chair. Lee is also on the board of the Pitching In Isthmian League, as our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Director.
