A duo for Grays

By Ian Townsend

Jack Humphrey and Julian Gibson are new at Grays Athletic

Grays Athletic got their first win of the Pitching In Isthmian North season on Saturday, and as well as new arrival Billy Crook, who we told you about last week, they had Jack Humphrey and Julian Gibson in their ranks.

Defender Jack Humphrey has spent the last three seasons with Brentwood Town, and has already made nine appearances for the Blues this season. He played thirty eight times last season, and played an enormous part of their run to the Play Off Final during 21-22, making thirty nine appearances including in the Final shootout defeat to Canvey Island.

Jack started life at Leyton Orient, and moved on to play for Heybridge Swifts, Histon, Maldon and Tiptree, Tring Athletic, Welwyn Garden City and Potters Bar Town prior to his time as a Blue.

Julian Gibson came on from the bench and scored, so will be delighted with his debut.

Full back Julian started his career in the USA- his home country- and played in New Jersey before heading to the UK. He made thirty three appearances for Bowers and Pitsea in the Pitching In Isthmian Premier Division last season, unfortunately being sent off in the last one, a defeat against Kingstonian at the end of February. He then moved on to Brentwood Town in the summer.

Primarily a left back, he can also play on the right, and has been known to feature in midfield.
