Leatherhead gave their new management team a baptism of fire yesterday, as they fell to a heavy defeat at Lewes- but they did debut six new players.
Chid Onokwai comes in from Haringey Borough, and we all know just how dangerous he is when he finds his shooting boots! He scored seventeen goals in seventeen games for FC Romania during the 2018-19 season, then moved on to champions Hayes and Heading United and got three more. He got fourteen in twenty three appearances for Borough during the 2019-20 season, and then moved on to St Albans City, also playing on loan for Hendon. He was back at Coles Park this season but has decided to see how he looks in green.
Defender Guy Kiangebini has recently been playing for Clapton in the Essex Senior League and has also played for Enfield Borough, whilst Henry Mabassa has previously played for Cheshunt, FC Romania, Romford and, more recently, Basildon United.
Midfielder Stephane Bombelenga was back in Sussex last night having played previously for Eastbourne Borough and East Grinstead Town, and has also played for Gosport Borough, Metropolitan Police and Welling United, having also spent some time at Ipswich Town earlier in his career, whilst another midfielder, Rigers Kabashi, has played for Concord Rangers, Redbridge, Barkingside, Coggeshall Town and Brightlingsea Regent, and has also turned out recently for Holland FC (that's Holland-On-Sea, they don't play in the Netherlands).
Forward Darnell Kithambo came through the Academy at Boreham Wood, making his first team debut in December 2019. He has also played for Ilford and Clapton.
