Philip Roberts makes his debut for Gate in their draw with Brightlingsea Regent

Margate had a new forward in their starting line up for their draw with Brightlingsea Regent on Saturday, Philip Roberts adding experience to their squad.

Phil played youth football at Norwich City and then Arsenal, before heading north of the border. His time in Scotland saw him play for Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Falkirk, Dundee and Alloa Athletic.

After some time in Ireland with Sligo Rovers he returned to the South East with the likes of Chelmsford City, Braintree Town, Hemel Hempstead Town, Dartford and Wealdstone, and over the last few seasons he has spent a little time in our ranks with Romford, Brentwood Town and Tilbury.
