A pair of Towners

By Ian Townsend

Prior to yesterday's victory, Enfield Town added Andre Coker and Nathan Smith

Enfield Town fans had a good day yesterday, watching their side turn around a half time deficit at Carshalton Athletic to win four-two. Their mood was probably helped by their two new signings, both of whom played a part in that victory.

Forward Andre came through the ranks at Crystal Palace, and joined Cray Wanderers from Maidstone United during the summer of 2019, after a lengthy loan at Dartford. He made nineteen appearances for Wands, scoring five times, before their Hayes Lane landlords Bromley spotted him and signed him, but he returned to our Premier Division last year with Kingstonian, for whom he made seven competitive appearances before lockdown hit once more.

Defender Nathan was with Braintree Town in National League South last season, and prior to that turned out for those famous former Isthmians Dulwich Hamlet. He has spent most of his career- almost three hundred matches- playing professionally for another bunch of former Isthmians (albeit rather a long time ago) Yeovil Town, and also featured for Chesterfield and Dagenham & Redbridge. Potters Bar Town fans may also remember him, as he had a spell as a Scholar before turning professional.
