A Regent trio

Marlon Agyakwa, Eljay Worrell and Babu Ombok are new at Brightlingsea Regent

Brightlingsea Regent kick off pre-season today with a trip to Little Oakley, and travelling fans will be keen to see the three new faces in the squad.

Marlon Agyakwa, a winger, moves across from Grays Athletic. He joined the club in February and played fourteen times- and also managed eleven appearances for Stowmarket Town last season, as well as four for Brentwood Town and started the campaign at Aveley.

He came through the ranks at Southend United, and after leaving the Shrimpers stayed in the area with Canvey Island. He had two spells with the Gulls, the latest in 2018-19- when he played forty six times- after initially playing for three seasons.

He has also spent time with Oxford City and Didcot Town, but has also played for Tilbury, making thirty four appearances and scoring seven times.

Eljay Worrell, a defender, has previously played for the likes of Billericay Town, Redbridge, Great Wakering Rovers, Barking, Grays Athletic and Tilbury- and indeed spent some time in caretaker charge of the Dockers after Keith Rowland's departure in February 2022. He spent last season with Barking.

Babu Ombok also spent time with Barking last season. He also played Under 19 football for Enfield Town.
